Christmas is nearly here and this is the busiest time of year for shopping online and great time for the lowlife fraudsters to expose you.
Because of these threats an initiative called Stop! Think Fraud Campaign provided by the Government have offered practical guidance to help individuals and small businesses protect themselves from cyber criminals during the Christmas period.
Scumbag scammers will often deploy underhand tactics, claiming that offers are only available for a limited time or that products are scarce, to manipulate people into acting quickly, parting with money or personal information.

It is always important to be aware of these threats and what to do protect yourselves, the campaign provides information as well as quizzes to help to keep you safe from fraudsters. It also gives you the opportunity to report scams.
This is where using two-factor authentication becomes more important than ever as well as being informed of the risks.
I provide cyber help and advice but it always useful to have as much information and guidance from other sources like this too.
