They are a bigger threat than ever and now more tools are at their disposal causing a great deal more devastation to the innocent victims.
They cannot wait to grab your cash and runaway like the lowlife cowards that they are. Thanks to high speed connections, AI and plenty of experience they are on the prowl and do succeed and do get their grubby little hands on victims money.
Let me explain.
High speed connections
In years gone by connections would drop or connect slowly from the likes of Asia and Africa to England, they would be very unreliable and would disconnect for hours and the poor little mites would have a hard time trying to rip you off. Phone numbers would be foreign numbers that would be easily recognised as foreign and alert you straightaway that something is suspicious.
But now with high speed connections and recognisable English phone numbers it is so much easier for these scumbags to reach you and keep a constant connection. Remotely accessing your computer to ply their evil trade. They can also connect and steal so much more quickly than before and move onto the next victim to swell their bank accounts with ill gotten gains.
AI
An amazing technology with so many advantages in a positive way and so many more advantages in a negative way. You can’t get much more negative than aiding these bottom feeding lowlifes, with no conscience and no soul. They are now able to use AI to helps scammers by providing tools to create more convincing, scalable, and sophisticated fraudulent content and communications.
These tools help even the dumbest of scammers to seem professional, it also makes scams harder to detect by eliminating common red flags like poor grammar or obvious fake images. AI will also help in creating professional looking fake websites that they can use as part of their scam and convincing fake social media accounts too.

Ai can also assist with Malware which is the software used to gain access to your computer, using adaptive techniques which help to avoid antivirus software detection.
Worse still is automation and scaling which allows large scale dirty underhanded campaigns with little human intervention. The use of AI-powered chatbots can manage hundreds of scam conversations simultaneously, handling initial victim engagement, building trust, and only escalating to a human operator when complex manipulation or a financial pitch is required. Which yields a fantastic ‘return on investment’ and makes these utter lowlifes very happy and their innocent victims much poorer.

Experience
Many of these scammers have been deceiving people globally for years and are skilled at persuading people who are sceptical into believing their lies. They use various methods including time pressure, preying on the vulnerability of people and playing on their conscience (not that they would know what that is!). Intimidation and blackmail adds to the heady mix of horrible dirty lowlife tactics they employ.
Summary
It is hard to blame fast connections, AI and years of experience individually or collectively these are simply tools of the trade. This evil practice has proved successful over many years its just that now they are far smarter, quicker and more efficient, sadly.
