A Simple Guide To Protecting Yourself Online

This is just a guide with little detail as to why or what happens if you don’t protect yourself. You can read my other articles to find out more. It is just meant as general advice 101.

1. Run updates, they are there to protect you from the latest threats.

2. Don’t open suspicious emails if in doubt delete.

3. Don’t use weak passwords on any devices, it’s not worth the risk.

4. Don’t believe everything you read online. 

5. Don’t click links on dodgy looking article links.

6. Don’t always click on ‘friends’ links if they don’t look right, as it might not be your actual friend.

7. Always be sure of any online payment before you make it.

8. Don’t be afraid to ask for help if you are unsure about anything online.

9. Use common sense if it looks dodgy it probably is, if in doubt don’t do it.
